Digital teaching at the University of Stuttgart: Teaching and learning tools, ILIAS, AI, lecture recordings, advising, and professional development for faculty

The University of Stuttgart places particular emphasis on in-person teaching. It emphasizes the value of face-to-face interactions while also encouraging teaching staff to take advantage of the educational potential of digitally enhanced teaching. The central platform is the ILIAS learning management system, supplemented by lecture recordings for teaching, scanned exams, and other teaching and learning tools. A media space and a makerspace are available for the production of instructional and tutorial videos, as well as innovative teaching formats. AI applications that comply with data protection regulations are also available.

The Center for Higher Education and Lifelong Learning (zlw) and TIK support faculty in the targeted and considered use of teaching and learning tools, in the further development of teaching concepts, and with technical questions. A wide range of professional development opportunities and open consultation sessions support you in all areas of university teaching.

The framework for the continued digital development of teaching at the University of Stuttgart is defined by the teaching policy [de] adopted by the Rectorate and the Senate.
