Accessing the App and Pin Code

You can access the app directly from the C@MPUS start page. If you use the drop-down menu to select your organizational unit, for example, you will receive a filtered overview.

To open the app or other applications, you need a PIN code. This code is displayed when you call up this app in C@MPUS for the first time. Please memorize this code!

The PIN code can then be changed under Settings. If you have forgotten your PIN code, please contact the study program manager or Division 3.

Applications

You can use the “Exam Planning Service” app, with the relevant authorizations, to manage exam dates and exam planning elements. You will find more detailed information in the corresponding instructions.

Event

  • Exam type: “Subject Exam” always applies, is filled in automatically
  • Event title supplement: Any entry made here will be displayed for all dates associated with the same examination number in this semester, potentially including dates for other examiners as well!

Date

  • Date: Enter the date here as soon as it becomes available. Otherwise you can leave the field empty.
  • Exams on the same day: If you have entered a date and time, click on the button to open a list of exams taking place on the same day.
  • Email, grading scale, max. candidates: The information added here may not be changed!

Notes for adding dates:

  • If you enter an exam date, students can cancel this themselves up to 7 days beforehand.
  • Exception: Withdrawal from course examinations (LBP) is not possible after the end of the registration period
  • The "End of withdrawal period" entry for course examinations (LBP) is automatically corrected by a script, which also regularly checks and updates any changes to the official deadlines.
  • If no deadline is specified, the following applies: End of withdrawal period = end of registration, i.e. students can no longer withdraw from the examination themselves online, but only via a form at the examination office or examination board. The date of the end of the withdrawal period must be entered before the exam date is saved, otherwise it cannot be saved. As soon as a date is added, the “End of withdrawal period” field is automatically filled out correctly (7 days before the exam date), so that students can withdraw from examinations online if the date is far enough in the future.

People

  • Examiner: Only one main examiner allowed
  • Authorized persons, other persons: Other examiners (WP), authorized person(s) (BP)

Online view

  • Display date for students: Check this box to publish the exam date
  • Start and end of registration: The details are filled in automatically and must not be changed!
  • Request to Review an Exam (Start/End Date): Entering data here allows students to submit a request to review their examination. However, the review process must be organized outside of C@MPUS.
  • Examination Dates: An overview of examination dates at the University of Stuttgart or within your organizational unit. You can start printing the exam dates via the link Date lists - Print/schedule view in the gray menu box at the top right. This gives you the option to sort and filter the table view.
  • My exam dates: Overview of your own exam dates. The examination/assessment list opens in the editing view. You will then see all scheduled and past dates already assigned to this module. Click on the “Edit” button in the “Operations” column or on the gray arrow to the far left of the exam date to open the exam date.

This app can be used to assess exams and correct assessments. You will only be shown dates for which you are an examiner. You will find the following functions in the menu ribbon at the top of the page:

  • To print: Click on the PDF icon to print an appointment list containing the examination date and location, examiner, number of registered candidates and appointment status.
  • Applications:
    • Create new exam: Takes you to the template exam management - new date. Please refer to our instructions for exam planning to find out how best to proceed when creating new exams.
    • Student view: Here you can choose whether the online view for students should be activated or deactivated. Students can only register for an exam when the online display is activated and students can see the registration in their view.
  • Settings: Click on "Change Link" to see an overview of the columns in the checklist. You can add or remove columns and adjust the position. Use the reset link to undo previously defined settings.
  • Examination status:
    • In progress: Shows all examination dates in progress, i.e. examination dates that have been created and processed until they have been validated (by the examiner themselves or the responsible department).
    • Editable: Identifies performances that can be edited within the specified period by authorized examiners.
    • Valid: Shows all exam dates with “valid” status (exam dates already set as valid).
    • Deleted: Displays all deleted exam dates.
  • Editing views:
    • Edit: Switches to the view in which the exam date can be edited directly.
    • Assess: Switches to the view in which the candidates of the examination date can be assessed.
  • Sort:
    • Number, title, date, examiner, registration deadline: Sorts the exam dates according to the selected criterion. By default, they are sorted by date. The header of the individual columns (attributes of the exam date) can be sorted according to further criteria.
    • Cancel filter: Clears all filters applied to the header of individual columns (exam date attributes), displaying all exam dates for the organization again.

FAQs on Exam Administration

You need a PIN code to open the “Exam Management” app. When you open the application for the first time, you will receive this in a pop-up window in your browser.  Please write this number down. If you have forgotten your PIN code, please contact the study program manager or Division 3 using the contact form. They can reset the pin code and you will receive a new code. You can change this again in the exam management settings.

In order to see and use certain apps in C@MPUS, your authorizations must be stored in C@MPUS.  You can only access the relevant apps if your role(s) or authorization(s) are correctly stored in C@MPUS. Please take a look at the overview of C@MPUS authorizations. There, under the individual topic (rooms, examinations, courses, modules), we have listed which roles have which authorizations. Then check in the “My Authorizations” app whether the required authorizations have been entered correctly. If this is not the case, please contact the contact persons listed there to clarify your request.

If a fail grade has been marked as valid, you will no longer be able to modify the grades yourself. In such cases, please contact the Examinations Office. You can send a PDF file with the names, student ID numbers and grade changes to the Examinations Office and the changes will be entered for you. Please do not forget your signature and your institution stamp!

Counting attempts can sometimes be a little confusing. Questions may arise, in connection with counting oral repeat examinations. Therefore, a brief explanation of the system's behavior is provided.

C@MPUS counts every assessed, valid exam attempt. For example, withdrawals due to illness or withdrawals approved by the examination board are not assessed. Non-graded assessments are recorded as “Q - No Assessment” in C@MPUS.

If an oral repeat examination is scheduled, this attempt is not graded initially (as the oral examination has not yet been assessed). The number of exam attempts is only increased after the oral examination has been assessed.

This is necessary because, otherwise, the increase in the number of exam attempts for a repeat oral examination could potentially reach the maximum allowed attempts, resulting in the student being marked as EN (a negative grade).

In such cases, an examination report can only be generated by an authorized person from Division 3. The reason for this is that the student has changed subjects and is no longer enrolled. Please contact the support of Department 3 via the contact form.

It is possible to create the list of candidates via the Excel export and then filter them in Excel.

General information on examination organization, including forms, is summarized on the web pages for students.
