You can call up this app directly via the start page in C@MPUS.

- Choice of organizational unit: Use the drop-down menu to display a list of your theses or a list of an organizational unit.

- Assessment: The assessment date is automatically adjusted when a grade is entered.

Evaluating Final Theses (instructions)
- The examination regulations specify the minimum number of ECTS credits required before a thesis topic can be assigned. Students are shown a download link for the registration form in the C@MPUS application “My Requests” if they meet the requirements for registering a Bachelor's or Master's thesis.
- The registration form must be filled out, signed and handed in at the examination office. The request for the certificate is also integrated into this form. Students must therefore submit all pages to the Student Services and Examinations Office.
- The Examination Office registers the Bachelor's or Master's thesis in C@MPUS and assigns an examiner, enabling them to access it through the "My Theses" app. Authorized persons can view all final theses they are permitted to access, but each must be reported seperately [de] separately.
If you want to grade a thesis, use the gray menu box at the top right to select the status of the theses you want to edit: "In progress" or "only Correctable".
The fields topic, submission and thesis grade must be completed.
Thesis Topic/Title
Registration by the examination office
Once the student submits the thesis registration to the Examination Office, the responsible clerks do not enter the title from the registration form. Instead, they use placeholders in the input fields “Topic registered” and “Topic recorded on Transcript of Records/Title.” These serve solely as placeholders and are required for technical reasons only.
Entry by examiner
The thesis topic is entered by the examiner. Please remove the placeholder symbols in the “Topic recorded on transcript of records/title” field and enter the title there.
The topic of the final thesis is printed on the certificate. The topic in English is issued on the English transcript of records and is also part of the final documents. Therefore, please ensure you complete the field “Topic in English”.
Please observe the following rules:
- No full stop after the title
- Enter the original language of the title
- Please enter the topic in both German and English. If the topic has an English title, please enter the English title twice.
- Enter the final title of the thesis (no working or provisional topics in C@MPUS)
- The University of Stuttgart uses the MLA style for the English title
Bitte beachten Sie folgende Regeln:
Recording Grades and Submission Date
Preliminary assessment:
For a preliminary assessment, the grade “preliminary assessment - BE passed” must be selected (lowest value in the drop-down selection menu). You hereby confirm that the student has submitted and successfully passed the thesis, and that this status is final.
Please note: Once the final grade is available, enter it immediately to replace the provisional assessment. The final certificate cannot be issued until this is done.
After completing the assessment, click the "Valid" button in the "Status" column. The assessment date is automatically adjusted when a grade is entered.
Final grade is available:
If the final grade is already available, please enter it instead of the preliminary assessment. You must do this in the "Final Theses" app under the "Correctable" section. It is not necessary to click on “valid” again.
The assessment date is automatically adjusted when a grade is entered.
FAQs on Exam Administration
You need a PIN code to open the “Exam Management” app. When you open the application for the first time, you will receive this in a pop-up window in your browser. Please write this number down. If you have forgotten your PIN code, please contact the study program manager or Division 3 using the contact form. They can reset the pin code and you will receive a new code. You can change this again in the exam management settings.
In order to see and use certain apps in C@MPUS, your authorizations must be stored in C@MPUS. You can only access the relevant apps if your role(s) or authorization(s) are correctly stored in C@MPUS. Please take a look at the overview of C@MPUS authorizations. There, under the individual topic (rooms, examinations, courses, modules), we have listed which roles have which authorizations. Then check in the “My Authorizations” app whether the required authorizations have been entered correctly. If this is not the case, please contact the contact persons listed there to clarify your request.
If a fail grade has been marked as valid, you will no longer be able to modify the grades yourself. In such cases, please contact the Examinations Office. You can send a PDF file with the names, student ID numbers and grade changes to the Examinations Office and the changes will be entered for you. Please do not forget your signature and your institution stamp!
Counting attempts can sometimes be a little confusing. Questions may arise, in connection with counting oral repeat examinations. Therefore, a brief explanation of the system's behavior is provided.
C@MPUS counts every assessed, valid exam attempt. For example, withdrawals due to illness or withdrawals approved by the examination board are not assessed. Non-graded assessments are recorded as “Q - No Assessment” in C@MPUS.
If an oral repeat examination is scheduled, this attempt is not graded initially (as the oral examination has not yet been assessed). The number of exam attempts is only increased after the oral examination has been assessed.
This is necessary because, otherwise, the increase in the number of exam attempts for a repeat oral examination could potentially reach the maximum allowed attempts, resulting in the student being marked as EN (a negative grade).
In such cases, an examination report can only be generated by an authorized person from Division 3. The reason for this is that the student has changed subjects and is no longer enrolled. Please contact the support of Department 3 via the contact form.
It is possible to create the list of candidates via the Excel export and then filter them in Excel.
General information on examination organization, including forms, is summarized on the web pages for students.
