On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, companies and organizations focus on the rights and concerns of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Last year, the Vice Rector for Diversity, Prof. Dr. Silke Wieprecht, and Employer’s Representative for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Ulrich Eggert, used the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities as a starting point to develop an agreement for the university. The rectorate's declaration on equal participation "Different together" is now part of this.
Rectorate declares its commitment to equal participation
In the past year, the main protagonists from across the university met for workshops to determine the status quo, the needs of different target groups, and how the university sees itself. For December 3, 2022, the Rectorate formulated a declaration on equal participation and handed it over to the Inclusion Officer. This marks an important milestone in improving inclusion at the University of Stuttgart.
In the coming year, further workshops with all status groups at the university will be organized to determine a specific catalog of measures and the associated timeframe.
