Welcome day for new employees

July 23, 2025

The university welcomed its new employees with a special event that provided a comprehensive insight into the diverse working environment on campus. It offered many opportunities to meet other new employees embarking on their journey at the University of Stuttgart.

Chancellor Anna Steiger and Sonja Rapp, Head of Personnel and Organisational Development, opened the day. The Chancellor had only recently honored long-serving employees on the occasion of their 25th and 40th anniversaries, now she was delighted to welcome the new colleagues.

Getting to know each other

Over the course of the morning, the participants learned about the university's structures and strategic goals. The focus was particularly on the wide range of continuing education courses on offer. Personnel Development, the GRADUS Graduate Academy, the Center for Higher Education and Lifelong Learning (zlw) and Corporate Health Management (BGM) presented their programs and showed how they support employees in their professional and personal development.

There was no shortage of opportunities for exchange: in a relaxed atmosphere, many took the opportunity to talk to each other and establish initial networks. Chancellor Steiger, the heads of department and the team from the Chancellor's Office also mingled with the guests at the informal end of the event to talk to the new employees in person – an opportunity that was well received.

The University of Stuttgart is delighted with the great interest and would like to welcome all new employees once again.
