For three days in July, Stuttgart will be transformed into a center for innovation, education and culture. The Futuromundo Festival combines four interdisciplinary conferences on the topics of urban life, business, education and young company founders with one of the largest music festivals in southern Germany, the Kessel Festival. The innovative format brings together thought leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, scientists and citizens who want to actively shape the future.
Dream machines are brought to life
The University of Stuttgart is involved with the "My Machine" project, in which pupils invent their dream machines, which are developed by students and ultimately built by middle school pupils. The intergenerational educational project, which has already been implemented in several countries, promotes creative thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration and technical skills – and has been recognized as an innovative learning method. Four of the dream machines developed and built will be presented at the Futuromundo Festival on July 3 in the presence of their proud creators.
Futuromundo Education Conference
The University of Stuttgart is also involved in the Futuromundo education conference: Sannah König, head of the Makerspace, and Merve Yilmaz, who are jointly offering the workshop “Make Coding and Creativity visible. Creative workshop with embroidery machine”, as well as Dr. Andreas Just from the Institute of Educational Science with a contribution on project-based learning in schools and its consequences for performance assessment.
From July 3 to 5, Futuromundo will bring people together in Stuttgart who want to shape the future together. If you want to be part of it, you can apply as a volunteer: In exchange for helping out for half a day, you get access to all program and conference content at the respective location (Liederhalle or Kessel Festival) for the other half of the day. Drinks and food are included. Further information can be found at Futuromundo Volunteers.
