Leadership-Program
Leadership Basics
When you take on a scientific leadership role, you are faced with a wide range of demands. But leadership needs to be practised! This seminar focuses on the role and tasks of leaders in the context of the University of Stuttgart as well as on teaching basic leadership skills for scientists.
You will reflect on your position and your leadership behaviour in the given institutional framework. In doing so, you will learn and deepen concrete behavioral patterns of scientific leadership, in particular adequate communication in practice-related leadership situations. You will expand your competences in the areas of delegation of responsibility (lateral leadership), active shaping of cooperation with scientific collegues and dealing with decisions. You will strengthen your ability to motivate and appropriately support your team members.
Examples and practical exercises complement the interaction of theoretical, yet interactive seminar elements as well as practical exercises to deepen your own leadership behaviour.
