After a short introduction by Dr. Simone Rehm, CIO at the University of Stuttgart, Prof. Stefan Höft, from the University of Applied Labour Studies will be delivering a lecture entitled: Online study option assistants for study program selection: Quo vadis?
Online Self-Assessments (OSAs) have established themselves at many universities as internet-supported, automated diagnostic and information tools for study program selection for prospective students. The number of OSAs on offer has risen sharply over the last few years. The database “OSA-Portal (www.osa-portal.de)” has compiled more than 700 general and study-program specific options from more than 100 providers.
A general introduction to OSAs will be followed by a closer look at two important questions: “In which phase of the study program selection process are OSAs actually of benefit to those looking for advice?” and “What might be possible indicators of good (or bad) OSAs?”
