Research data management (RDM) is not only a key prerequisite for the reproducibility of research in general, but also plays a crucial role in ensuring that data – and thus knowledge – can be found, reused and shared within a research group. Following a general introduction to RDM and the services available at the University of Stuttgart, the course focuses on teaching and discussing strategies for local data management.

Topics:

  • RDM: national and international developments (NFDI, EOSC, funder requirements)
  • RDM-Services @ US (FoKUS, data repository DaRUS, electronic lab book ELBUS, Storage for Science (bwSFS2) Jupyter Hub, LicenseChecker)
  • Local data management (Folder structures, naming conventions, documentation in the research process)
