From the training series: Introduction to European research funding and how to make the most of it

The financial management of Horizon Europe projects is often a challenge for project staff and administrations due to complex regulations. Errors in cost accounting can lead to queries from the European Commission, financial corrections, or the recovery of funds.

This training course provides comprehensive and hands-on information on the basics of financial accounting in Horizon Europe. It is aimed at institute employees who are currently managing Horizon Europe projects or will be doing so in the future.

Topics:

  • Eligibility of costs
  • Timesheets
  • Requirements for the documentation of costs
  • Payment modalities and internal processes
  • Reviews and audits
  • SAP-Reports

Registration: Please send an email to the EU office.

Venues and language:

  • 14.04.2026 , CASINO, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 24 (Language: German)

European funding programs offer excellent opportunities for innovative research—but applying for and administering EU-projects involves complex requirements. The EU-Office (Division Research and Transfer) offers a practice-oriented training series that provides researchers and administrative staff with in-depth knowledge of European research funding and the financial rules that apply.
